Secma offers anesthesiologists 3 days of intensive education in anesthesiological ultrasound

So far, the development of diagnostic and interventional ultrasound in anesthesia and emergency medicine has taken place within separate concepts.

The concept of this course is anesthesiological and emergency medical ultrasound as a diagnostic and interventional universal tool. The focus of the course is on practical hands-on exercises, supported by the necessary theory.

The instructors are all pioneers and enthusiasts in their field of expertise in anesthesiological and emergency medical ultrasound. All instructors are dedicated to conveying the concept of ultrasound as an anesthesiological universal tool

The anesthesiological specialty has undergone a paradigm shift in the last 15 years. Point-of-care ultrasound scanners have become the anesthesiologist’s universal tool in handling the core competencies of anesthesia both pre-hospital and intra-hospital, in acute and elective situations, pre-, peri-, and postoperatively, as well as in intensive and pain therapeutic care

Practical Information

The course takes place from Wednesday, March 13th to Sunday, March 17th in Limone, Piemonte, Italy, at the Grand Hotel Principe. The course spans over 3 days with intensiv training and knowledge sharing. The number of participants is limited to 25 people, and we are flying from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Holland

Hands-on teaching

This course in anesthesiological ultrasound includes instruction and hands-on experience in peripheral nerve blocks, transthoracic echocardiographic assessment of the heart and circulation, as well as trauma evaluation.
The instructors have a broad foundation in point-of-care ultrasound and can provide teaching in specific areas as desired by the course participants. During the course, presentations and theoretical discussions will take place in groups in connection with hands-on sessions
