Den m\u00e5les i hertz (Hz). Frekvensene som brukes i medisinsk ultralyd ligger vanligvis mellom 1 megahertz (MHz) og over 30 MHz. H\u00f8yere frekvenser gir bedre bildeoppl\u00f8sning, men har mindre penetrasjonsdybde i vevet, mens lavere frekvenser muliggj\u00f8r dypere penetrasjon, men med lavere oppl\u00f8sning. Disse frekvensomr\u00e5dene hjelper klinikere og teknikere med \u00e5 velge de mest hensiktsmessige ultralydinnstillingene for ulike diagnostiske og terapeutiske form\u00e5l, slik at optimal bildekvalitet og diagnostisk n\u00f8yaktighet oppn\u00e5s. <\/p><ul><li><p><strong>H\u00f8yfrekvent ultralyd (10\u201330 MHz):<\/strong> Brukes til avbildning av mer overfladiske strukturer som sener, muskler og organer n\u00e6r hudoverflaten.
